My family and I stayed the Melia Caribe Beach Resort for 14 nights in August 2022. We chose the Melia for its family friendly variety of activities and choice of restaurants for our 15 year old daughter and 11 year old son. Our accommodation was great - two interconnecting rooms in The Level. We upgraded to The Level since we wanted a little exclusivity and this was our first holiday in three years. We were also assigned a concierge for the duration of our stay to look after us and ensure we had a comfortable stay. The Melia is big, but there are couple of trains that continuously travel around the resort so you can hop on/off where you want. The beach is beautiful - long, wide and clean. During our visit there was inflatable assault course in the sea; it costs $20 USD for an hour which is plenty and so much fun - we visited twice during our stay. Restaurants: Riviera - very good Hokkaido - good (this restaurant is not in the all-inclusive-package - the cost is added to your bill at the park end. Excellent food from an excellent chef; wine and a welcome cocktail included in the set menu. However, the restaurant lacked any sort of atmosphere, ambience, and Japanese decor; we could have been anywhere), Barefoot - good (stick to burgers and fries; my wife’s Caesar salad was poor), Alma - very good, Capri - very good The reception staff at The Level were great - our concierge team were excellent (big shout out and thank you to Reynardo and Saudi) and special mention to the young man known fondly as ‘Sexy Body’ - always with a smile.

The resort's location is simply outstanding. Our room was situated near the main swimming pool, offering a stunning view of the beach on the horizon. Although the main restaurants were a bit far from our room, the hotel provided convenient rides back and forth, or we could enjoy a pleasant walk filled with charming details, both during the day and at night. I truly felt immersed in the Caribbean atmosphere. The rooms were spacious and adequately equipped, though some aspects could use improvement. Visiting during the off-season, we appreciated the calm ambiance, with the occasional lively activity around the pool kept to an acceptable level. Noise levels overall were very low. The beach was exceptional—clean, with plenty of space to relax. Do yourself a favor and wake up early to witness the breathtaking sunrise. Both buffets, especially the one near the lobby, were the highlights for dining, offering a variety of delicious options. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate all requests, even though they appeared to be understaffed. The gym was well-located and equipped with everything you might need, although towels were unavailable for a couple of days due to a laundry issue. A special thanks to the lobby staff who went the extra mile to help us check in despite a significant issue with our credit card. Hats off to their dedication and professionalism!

The service was excellent. Luciano, Maiky, Cristina, Wander, Sara, Francia, I could go on and on. We had reservations every night. Our drinks were always full. We had to tell the bartender to stop giving us beautiful piña coladas, we weren’t even finished with the current and new one was waiting. We paid extra for the Level and boy was that worth it. The entertainment at night is great, but if you do have kids and want to go to bed at 8pm, you might struggle with the music in the lobby late. Ask for a room that is further away to help with that. If you don’t like to walk, you will have to take the shuttle. I didn’t mind, I came home in better shape than I left - no joke. It’s about 1,000 steps from the lobby to the beach. With walking everywhere and dancing at night, I clocked in 22,000 steps one day, but on a normal day usually about 5,000-10,000 depending if I lounged at the pool or beach.

The entire experience was excellent. From my concierge Jose, to the entire staff at The Level and YHI Spa, everyone provided exceptional service during my 6 day visit. The food was great and plentiful, the facilities and grounds were very clean and well kept, housekeeping was very friendly and attentive, To top it off, Jose, my concierge arranged a birthday surprise in my room unexpectedly. I arrived to find a beautifully decorated room filled with balloons, a bubble bath waiting in the jacuzzi, and a personal birthday cake 🎂. This trip could not have been more perfect!! I would definitely recommend Meliá Caribe Beach Resort for your next journey to the Dominican Republic.

Juan from Guest Services, Gabi from Membership Services, all the friendly, generous Bar Staff and staff in general. The quality, tastiness and choices of food in the buffet and Hokkaido. The comfort of the rooms. The well maintained grounds, the peacocks, the vibe in the hotel lobby. The Dominican dancers in the show, the events that they hosted in the lobby. The spa and hot/cold dip after. The train transportation, the generosity of staff picking us up on their way to work in their buggies too.
